6 super refreshing watermelon juice recipes to quench that summer thirst.

When I think of summer I often think of watermelon. Not only are they refreshing and healthy, they are also one the and best fruits for juicing. You can literally add anything to them (OK maybe not everything).

In this post I will share with you 6 of my favorite watermelon juice recipes. Enjoy!

Watermelon Juice Health Benefits:

  • Watermelons are 90% water, hence they are super hydrating.

  • They are high in Lycopene - A strong antioxidant that gives watermelon its red color and is associated with a range of health benefit (the lowering of cholesterol and possible reduction of cancer).

  • They are high in vitamin A & C - Important for healthy hair and skin.

  • Watermelons are low in sugar.

Before we start lets make sure we have the following...........

  • A Juicer

I use a cold pressed or centrifugal juicer at home and our juice bar.

These are technical terms for juicers, but all that really matters is you have some type of juicer - they both do the same job.

  • A large, sharp knife

There are two ways to cut a watermelon. Either cut into four quarters and scoop out the flesh with a spoon or cut the top and bottom off and cut around the skin (the second option gives you more flesh and less waste). Then chop into bite sized chunks.

1. Just Watermelon Juice

As I said before watermelon has one of the highest water content (hence the name) of any fruit. Its also very tasty and refreshing on its own.

Recipe

- 3-4 large handfuls of chopped watermelon

- Add 1 handful of ice (optional)

That's it! you now have a glass of fresh watermelon juice.

2. Watermelon & Pineapple Juice

Recipe

- 2-3 large handfuls of chopped watermelon.

- 2 large handfuls of chopped pineapple.

- Add 1 handful of ice (optional)

3. Watermelon - Orange - Grapefruit

Recipe

- 2-3 large handfuls of chopped watermelon.

- 1/2 peeled medium sized orange.

- 1/4 peeled large grapefruit

- Add 1 handful of ice (optional)

4. Watermelon - Cucumber - Lime - Mint

Recipe

- 2-3 large handfuls of chopped watermelon.

- 1/2 a cucumber

- 1/2 lime squeezed into the juicing jug

- Add a few mint leafs to the juicing jug

- Add 1 handful of ice (optional)

5. Watermelon - Apple - Lime

Recipe

- 2-3 large handfuls of chopped watermelon.

- 1 medium sized apple

- 1/2 lime squeezed into the juicing jug

- Add 1 handful of ice (optional)

6. Watermelon & Strawberry (the ultimate summer juice)

Recipe

- 2-3 large handfuls of chopped watermelon.

- 1-2 large handfuls of strawberry

- Add 1 handful of ice (optional)

Bonus tip:

Watermelon juice is also great as a alcoholic cocktail with the likes of gin and vodka.
