Get your healthy fats with these great avocado smoothies

I have avocado and egg on toast pretty much every morning - it's a fruit (yes I checked) I love. It's very versatile and recently I have been putting avocado into my smoothies and experimenting with different combinations (as a juice bar owner this is something I do a lot).
Not only is avocado very healthy it is also a good alternative to banana (to help thicken) and it doesn't really taste of anything - hence won't mess with the flavour of your smoothie.
In this vain I would like to share with you 6 avocado smoothie recipes that I think work well and are perfect for breakfast, dinner or tea.

A few health benefits of avocado:
They are high in healthy fats (monounsaturated - important for heart health)
They contain more potassium than banana (potassium helps to regulate your heartbeat)
They are loaded with powerful antioxidants that are important for eye health
What you will need before you start……
A blender (I use a nutri-ninja).
A Base (liquid for your smoothie). I use coconut water, as it helps to lift the taste without adding sugar. However you can use spring water or almond milk.
Directions:
Blend all of these recipes for around 1 minute
Add more liquids for your preferred consistency.
Servings/yield :
You should get a 16-20 oz servings from all these smoothie recipes (enough for 1 persons or 2 little ones).
Just double up on ingredients if you want to make in batches.
1. AVOCADO, SPINACH, KIWI, PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE

Recipe:
100 ml of coconut water
½ of a medium sized avocado
1 handful of spinach
1 ripe kiwi, peeled
2 handfuls of chopped pineapple
1 handful of ice
2. AVOCADO, MANGO, BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE

Recipe:
100 ml of coconut water
½ of a medium sized avocado
2 handfuls of mango
2 handfuls of blueberries
1 handful of ice
3 AVOCADO, STRAWBERRY, BLUEBERRY, SMOOTHIE

Recipe
100 ml of coconut water
½ of a medium sized avocado
2 handfuls of strawberries
1 handfuls of blueberries
1 handful of ice
4. AVOCADO, PINEAPPLE, MANGO SMOOTHIE

Recipe:
100 ml of coconut water
½ of a medium sized avocado
2 handfuls of chopped pineapple
1 handful of chopped mango
1 handful of ice
5. AVOCADO CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE
Avocado, Banana, Raw Cacao, Walnuts, Honey

Recipe:
100 ml of coconut water
½ of a medium sized avocado
1 ripe medium banana
1 teaspoon of raw cacao
1 small handful of walnuts
2 squirts of honey (optional)
1 handful of ice
6. AVOCADO, CUCUMBER, APPLE, LIME, GINGER SMOOTHIE

Recipe:
100 ml of coconut water
1 medium sized apple
½- 1 lime juice squeezed into the blender
1 thumb sized piece of ginger, peeled
1 handful of ice
Bonus tip:
Pour your smoothies into ice-pop moulds and put into the freezer - you’ll then have some healthy ice-pops for you and the kids!
